We were contacted by an audio visual specialist who had recently installed a cinema to a client’s prestigious home in Bournemouth. The room had a large amount of glazing on the Southern elevation of the property resulting in high solar gains, when added to the electrical loads within the area it was an uncomfortably hot environment. A brewery approached New-Air as a result of a faulty chiller in their large beer store area. They had been advised that the existing system required replacement and our engineers were able to verify that the existing systems were beyond economical repair. Albeit the system was already faulty, the client explained how whilst in operation they had also experienced a large temperature difference across the area due to the configuration of stacked barrels. New-Air were approached by a builder who had been employed to convert an existing stores area into a new office for a total of ten personnel within a hospital building. The office had no openable windows and therefore an energy efficient heat recovery fresh air system was installed to meet current fresh air requirements within an occupied office environment. The system provides the occupants with clean, fresh air and therefore improved air quality and comfort within the area. An existing client of New-Air required additional laboratory areas to be constructed at their premises. We had already successfully installed a number of air conditioning systems within various areas and were employed by the client to condition a further two areas. The laboratory areas presented limited options for the installation of internal units due to shelving and low level storage on the perimeter walls and a plasterboard ceiling with surface mounted lighting modules. We were approached by a key operator within Southampton docklands border control as a new facility was being built to enable the review of imported products prior to entry to the British marketplace. This facility consisted of a number of large scale, low temperature store areas and separate cold rooms where stock would be analysed. New Air successfully designed and installed a total of 11 systems across the site varying from a 32m² cold room to a 250m² freezer which needed to be maintained at a constant -25°C. We worked with a specialist controls manufacturer to design bespoke control panels to enable external control and monitoring of each of the environments.
